Beginning something new means letting go of the old. We are called to grow by stepping out of our comfort zones and embracing this newness, which is highlighted in today's reflection for Ascension Sunday.

It is important to recognize that people are more than their illnesses; they should be treated as persons, not defined by their conditions.

We are called to return love for hate and include the excluded. Heaven’s road is wide enough for all, and we must remain on it with sustenance for everyone on the journey.

We gather weekly to receive nourishment from the table of the Lord. Together we grow stronger in our journey of listening, attuning our hearts, and following God.

We are called to be the Sacrament of Jesus, not merely symbols, by being the first to show kindness, gentleness, forgiveness, and love. This homily was also directed at children celebrating their First Communion.

On Divine Mercy Sunday, we are reminded to reflect God's love in our lives by being gentle, kind, loving, and forgiving so others can find a way to new life.
