Mary’s suffering, especially at the foot of the cross, shows us the importance not just of suffering but of how one suffers. Her witness teaches the Christian way to endure with faith.

We are called to counter negative messages from the world with love and affirmation. God delights in us, and we should remind each other, 'You are my beloved one, with whom I am well pleased.'
