Homilies
Awareness-Gratitude-Conversion
To look at our own lives, to become aware of our own lives, and to see where God's grace is already at work in our own life. And then to be grateful for that grace in our lives. That is the reason we come to the Eucharist every week, to offer that gratitude for the graces that are received. But the challenge is that God's grace just does not happen on Sundays. It happens every day of our week.
Seeds of Faith
It is easy to identify with the prophet Habakkuk's lament of difficult times. We sometimes identify our times as the most difficult at times, that we are under persecution with our faith. Sometimes people are not taking religion seriously anymore. The secular society seems to be winning the battle, and we look at what is happening around the world. Violence and wars and it is hard not to get seduced by the lament of prophet Habakkuk.
Equal In God’s Eyes
This homily reminds us that all people, regardless of status, faith, or orientation, are children of God and equal in His eyes. We are united under a shared divine parenthood.
Good Stewardship
This homily reminds us to be mindful stewards of the time and resources we are given. Our lifespan, which may reach 85 or 90 years, is a true gift that we should manage wisely.
Divine Paradox
God's love is abundant like an ocean, and we are called to share it generously with everyone, not just those we like, but especially with those who challenge us.
Identity First, Then Action
Saying yes to the Lord is a decision to live as the body of Christ. This homily emphasizes committing to the path of Christ weekly and embracing a life defined by that sacred decision.
